Your day tour to Seward will begin with curbside pickup from your hotel or pre-arranged location, you will travel along the beautiful Cook Inlet, on one of America’s most scenic roadways, the Seward Highway. You will stop at Beluga Point along the way for a breath of fresh Alaskan air, and photo opportunities of the Cook Inlet and its infamous tides. You will then continue up the Turnagain Arm for a narrated driving tour through Alaska’s most popular developed visitor attraction, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, providing up-close wildlife viewing, educational, and photo opportunities. The center houses an 18-acre brown bear enclosure, the largest in the United States. The center takes in injured and orphaned animals and provides spacious enclosures. Animals, such as eagles, caribou, elk, moose, and deer that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center.
You will continue south on the Seward Highway, taking in the scenery of the Kenai Peninsula, and enjoying a tasty box lunch. After lunch and upon arrival in Seward you will continue onto to the SeaLife Center, where you will experience, explore and discover Alaska’s northern marine ecosystems, get up-close photos of both horned and tufted puffins, red-legged kittiwakes, murres and other marine birds in the center’s Aviary. Go nose to nose with Steller sea lions and harbor seals in the Underwater Viewing area. The SeaLife Center is your connection to Alaskan seas.
After visiting at the SeaLife Center, you will enjoy a relaxing tour around Seward to some of the Landmark attractions such as downtown Seward, Jujiro Wada (Samurai Musher) memorial statue, the Small Boat Harbor, Mt. Marathon, and time permitting Exit Glacier. Your day concludes with a beautiful return trip back to Anchorage back through the Kenai Peninsula, the Turnagain Arm and finally back to hotel or place of drop off.
